Bangladesh Film Archive to Celebrate World Day for Audiovisual Heritage 2025 with Month-long Classic Film Screenings.

Bangladesh

As part of the global celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage 2025, the Bangladesh Film Archive (BFA) has announced a special initiative to honor the nation’s cinematic legacy through a month-long classic film screening program to be held throughout November 2025.
The program aims to highlight the importance of preserving and showcasing Bangladesh’s rare and historically significant films that have shaped the country’s cultural and artistic identity. Under this initiative, the BFA will screen a selection of rare and classic films from its collection and already restored, offering film enthusiasts, researchers, and the general public an opportunity to experience the nation’s rich audiovisual heritage on the big screen.
In alignment with UNESCO’s theme for this year’s Audiovisual Heritage Day, the initiative underscores the crucial role of archives in safeguarding the moving image history of a nation. The screenings will take place at the Bangladesh Film Archive Projection Hall on every Thursday.
The Bangladesh Film Archive invites all cinema lovers, scholars, and cultural institutions to participate in this month-long celebration dedicated to the timeless beauty of Bangladeshi cinema and the enduring power of moving images.
